What can you do?

  • If you are an organization which wants to participate in the public conversation, then
      • Identify a conversation topic.
        • What is your focus? On public policy or moral issues or veterans themes, etc.?
      • Determine the educational format. For example,
        • Public lecture
        • Seminar
        • Video/slideshow
        • Articles in newsletters, websites, newspapers, etc.
        • A artistic performance or presentation
      • Select a physical or virtual location.
        • Is this easily or readily accessible by your target audience?
        • Are there parking or travel concerns?
      • Develop a marketing and publicity campaign.
        • Coordinate with the Project's Clearinghouse Email
        • Set your event dates and times
      • Special Events
        • Conduct a contest for "Best {essay, interview, performance, art, etc.}"
        • Offer awards for specific activities. E.g, winning the contest, for attending a set number of Project events, etc.
      • Financial plan
        • Will you charge a fee?
        • Do you need to solicit funds from foundations or other groups?
      • Contribution
        • If you can, make a contribution to the Project.
        • If you have memorabilia, contact the Project for copying or donation procedures.
        • Identify any members who should be interviewed by the Oral History project.
